This policy paper is elaborated by the Association of Experts for Security and Global Affairs and was amended with the key recommendations of academic experts from the region, participants in the online debate of August 18, 2020. The discussion brought together experts from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine. The objective of the debate was to highlight developments in the bilateral relations Romania — Republic of Moldova and Ukraine — Republic of Moldova in the period 2019 – 2020, as well as to correctly identify potential challenges and potential risks that may powerfully affect the cooperative partnership with Moldova for the two neighboring states. The specific objectives of the policy paper are: to assess the current state of the bilateral dialogue between Romania — Republic of Moldova and Ukraine — the Republic of Moldova before the official launch of the presidential election campaign, scheduled for November 1, 2020; to properly identify relevant political and social actors to assess developments in bilateral interactions, as well as to highlight areas of cooperation that can contribute to deepening partnerships, both bilaterally and trilateral.
